the hook

long description:
the hook draws from the cultural and material logic of yörük textile practices.
inspired by the kıl çadır, the project explores ideas of mobility, assembly, and temporary space-making.
the lamp is lightweight, modular, and reconfigurable, reflecting a way of living where environments are continuously constructed and adapted.
textile surfaces act as soft boundaries, filtering light in a way similar to tent structures.
the form references the hook motif found in kilims, traditionally associated with protection and continuity.
rather than preserving a static image of tradition, the project focuses on translating its underlying principles into a contemporary object.
